What should I look for in a new excavator during the break-in period?

A new or overhauled excavator must undergo a period of trial operation, often referred to as the break-in period. The purpose of this period is to prevent early wear and tear of the excavator and to prolong its service life. The following rules must be strictly enforced during the break-in period of the excavator:

(1) The excavator should hang a signboard with the words "going together" in a conspicuous place, so that the relevant personnel can pay attention to the regulations on the use of the going together period, and take it down after the going together period is over.

(3) When starting the engine, it is strictly prohibited to slam the throttle. The engine should be warmed up for 20-50 seconds when starting at low temperature, and then start immediately. Idle the engine for 3-5 minutes after starting, and increase the speed and load only when the cooling water temperature rises to 40 degrees.

(4) The technical preparation before starting the engine, the technical requirements during operation, and the technical work before stopping and after shutting down the engine should be carried out according to the requirements of the general mechanical operation regulations or the engine instruction manual.

(5) Excavator in the first 30 or 50 hours of the go together period should be digging the looser soil, each loading for the bucket capacity of 1/2, the next 70 or 50 hours of loading can be gradually increased, but shall not exceed the bucket capacity of 3/4, and reduce the operating speed.

(6) During the period of going together should always pay attention to the operation of the excavator's institutions, check the bearings, gears and friction sub-temperature, observe the hydraulic system with or without leakage phenomenon. The abnormal phenomenon in the operation should immediately stop to check the cause, and be excluded.

(7) After the full surface of the go together period should be based on the go together period of the operation of the excavator ministries for inspection, adjustment and lubrication work. At the same time check the gear box lubricant and hydraulic oil tank hydraulic oil cleanliness, if it is necessary to be replaced.
